Camping

2022 June 17th

Spending time with your best friends is always fun and is a special time for me. I met two of my best friends in Cardigan this year, Aaron and Josh, and we went camping with Aaron's parents.

The campsite was called The Village, about 2 hours away from Seoul. My friends and I talked while playing games in the car. I usually have carsick when riding someone else's car, but because my friends and I were so focused on playing games, I didn't have any car sick. When we arrived, Aarons's dad was already there and was setting up the camping gear. His camping car was like a big jeep with a little roof that opened up to the side. There was also a tent on top of the car where my friends and I slept. Aarons's dad prepared a lot of food for us to eat. We ate black tiger shrimp, butter-grilled abalone, fish cake (eomuk), etc. We ate and chilled for about an hour and then went swimming. However, sadly the adult pool was closed for some reason. Sadly we rode the slide a few times and just left. Aaron also brought a tiny football, and we threw it around the parking lot. It was light, but because of the shape of the football, it went far. We went to the convenience store a few times. We bought drinks, snacks, and what Aaron's parents told us to buy. In the evening, around ten o'clock, we cooked marshmallows on a campfire. It was delicious and had a good time talking about school and so much more. We just sat there talking to each other and with the parents for about 2 hours. Later in the night, we slept on top of the car. Aaron's mom and sister left at about 11, and Aaron's dad slept in a different tent next to us. We played games in the tent and had the best time of our lives. After we woke up, we went to the convenience store and bought cup ramen to eat for breakfast. We talked while eating again and then left. We listened to Korean rap in the car and sang together.

When I returned home, I felt like I wanted to go back and stay at the campsite for a little longer. This was the best time of my entire summer break, and we had already scheduled another camping trip in the winter.
