My life in China 2012~2015

School:

I have been to many schools in my three years in China. I have been to a total Chinese school, an international school named Concordia, and another Internation school named YCIS. First, my experience in the total Chinese school wasn't too great. It was the first school I went to in China and I went to the school when I hardly knew how to speak Chinese. Making new friends was hard because I was one of the few Korean students attending the school. Because of the language barrier asking questions were hard, and it was almost impossible even to have a conversation with others. Thankfully I only attended the school for about a month, and I hardly remember the school's name or my experience in the school.

The following school I went to is named Concordia. It is an international school for young kids, and it is where I learned most of my basic English speaking and writing skills. Since I was born, my mom would always speak to me in English. I spoke English but not that well when I was young. However, after going to Concordia, I picked up most of the skills thanks to the international students and the classes. Concordia was a place where it felt more like a camp than a school. We would learn basic stuff like writing and speaking but mostly I just played around with my friends and just had a good time. I also only attended this school for six months but it is a place where I had a lot of good memories.

Finally, the last school I attended in China was called YCIS. It stands for Yew Chung International School. I attended this school for 2 years. This is where I have the most memories of China. I lived only about 10 minutes from the school, and it took even less time to go by the school bus. I would always be greeted by my good friends and teachers. Now, if I think about it, my first year at YCIS was similar to my first year in Cardigan. It was the first time I studied in a different country. It was a new experience, and I felt like an actual community while staying at YCIS. I have been a good student and had a really fun time during my first year. After my first year, I had a birthday party with my friends which was very exciting and was a good experience to bond with my friends. In my second year, I was in the same class with many of my old friends and we just had a good time. We would play dodgeball and play board games in our free time. My second birthday party was Mario-themed and I had a great time. My time at these 3 schools were amazing and it was such a special and influential time and part of my life. Because I was able to go to international schools since I was young, it made me go to Cardigan and is helping me build up a goal of going into my dream high schools and Universities.
